We are hosting ST. PADDY’s at the CHOO CHOO! We are excited to show off our lawn and new stage at the Choo Choo Gardens.
There will be plenty of drinks, entertainment and food! The event will be family friendly from 2:00 - 6:00 PM with live music from The Molly Maguires and Wolfhounds with acoustic sets from the Tri-Skelkies.
Enjoy activities from local non profits and vendors too!

Chickamauga Dam Lock Through Kayak Tour With Chattanooga Guided Adventures

Try the unique guided experience of locking through Chickamauga Dam from the seat of a kayak. You will paddle into the 120 ft tall lock and the massive gates will close behind you. Your guide will connect the boats to a moving anchor at the side of the lock to secure all of the passengers on the trip. The lockmaster slowly empties the water in the lock from Chickamauga Lake into the Tennessee River below the dam. As the water empties the lock, you slowly descend into the depth of the lock to match the river level below the dam. The massive doors in front of you open and your guide will lead you into the river where the paddling adventure continues on the Tennessee River with the gentle current helping you downriver. This is a truly unique Chattanooga kayaking experience.
Ages 7 and up can ride in a tandem kayak with an adult.

Wildflower Walk with TN Native Plant Society
March 16th from 1pm-3:30pm, Leader: Mitchell Kent with the Tennessee Native Plant Society.
We will walk through an arboretum to the creek and then continue along the creek as we view numerous wildflowers. We will cross the creek on a pedestrian swinging bridge and hike along the opposite side of the creek to a Native American village site known as Little Owl Village. Bluebell, bloodroot, spring beauty, trout lily and other wildflowers should be in bloom. We will return along the same trail. Total hiking distance will be about 2.5 miles.
